CARDBOARD BRAND AND PRICE LABEL

CARDBOARD BRAND AND PRICE LABEL

Price tags, cardboard tags or hang tags: this is a hanging tag, usually made of cardboard, that you find on the outside of a garment, and on the back of which you can find the price of the product.

We manufacture these customised hang tags on numerous materials and applying the latest designs. All the labels can be customised in size, shape, finish and printing, and can be finished in countless ways, such as: creasing, metal engraving, die-cutting, laser engraving, varnishing, matt or gloss lamination, finishing them with round holes or shaped holes, and combining different materials and numerous appliqués, inserting textile labels, metal plates, bows… To finish them we can supply them with markers, micro-precintos, ribbons or threads, with or without safety pin.

The service of the cardboard labels will be carried out as single labels. But if you want to print them with your thermo-transfer printer, then we will provide you with cardboard labels in continuous, in rolls or folded in zig-zag with climbing or micro-perforation, so that the referencing of the garments can be done more quickly directly on the back, avoiding having to print an adhesive label with the prices and references that you will then transport to the back of the loose hang tag.

To prevent theft in distribution processes, we collaborate with leading companies that provide us with a wide variety of radio frequency (RF) and acousto-magnetic adhesive anti-theft labels, which we insert or stick onto cardboard labels. If you are concerned about the counterfeiting of your product, we also have the means and technology necessary to provide you with anti-counterfeiting labels with holographic engravings, correlative numbering or laser-marked threads. We study your needs and propose the best solution.

The manufacture of a cardboard label, also known as a hang tag or price tag, can be carried out using different printing methods, depending on the design, the image you wish to convey and the quantity requested. We have screen printing, offset printing, hot stamping, rotary flexography or digital printing systems available to meet all customer needs.

If the hangtag is designed in full colour, offset printing system is used, full colour printing is achieved on white cardboard. If the quantities are small, less than 5,000 units, they are printed digitally. When the cardboard label design is simple and the backgrounds are coloured, metallic, fluorescent or special, printing systems such as stamping or screen printing are used.

Offset or indirect system, is the fastest and most economical printing method currently developed. It is called indirect because the printing is produced through a rubber blanket that receives the ink from the photosensitive plate where the images have been engraved and deposits it on the material to be printed, fed in a rotary way. The background of the paper or material to be printed in offset printing must be white or light, as the inks do not cover. Offset inks are transparent and by screening the 4 basic colours (four-colour process), all colours can be achieved, except those with a metallic appearance for which special metallic inks will be required. Close examination of any printed material will show how tiny dots blend together to produce this amazing effect.

Screen printing is direct printing and involves transferring an ink through a mesh stretched over a frame. The passage of the ink is blocked in the areas where there will be no image by an emulsion or varnish, leaving the area where the ink will pass free. Its inks are opaque and the background to be printed can even be dark. The amount of ink to be deposited can be technically graduated by calculating the relief we want to achieve by working on the silk of the printing screen. The printing system is repetitive, i.e. once the first model has been achieved, the print can be repeated hundreds or even thousands of times without losing definition. The mesh, attached to a frame to keep it taut, is placed on the support to be printed and the ink is passed through it, applying moderate pressure with a squeegee, usually made of rubber. The print is made through an open weft canvas, framed in a frame, which is emulsified with a photo-sensitive material. By contact, the original is exposed to light to harden the image-free parts. By washing with water, the unexposed parts are diluted, leaving these free parts on the canvas. The support to be printed is placed under the frame, into which the ink is placed and spread over the entire canvas by means of a rubber ruler. The ink passes through the mesh in the part of the image and is deposited on the paper or cloth.

It is the most versatile system, although the most expensive and the least fast, as it is necessary to dry the first ink in each colour before applying the second one. The inks to be used can be matt or glossy and with the relief even heat-swellable.

Stamping – For metallic engravings you will need foil and a metal engraving with the figure to be engraved. Hot foil or stamping engraving, metallic or matt-coloured, on cardboard of any colour, even black. It requires a metal cliché with the design and a thermal foil tape that is applied with pressure and heat controlled by a special machine. For gift/decorative ribbons, it is engraved in the same way as above, but continuously. Note: Embossing on any flat surface is achieved in the same way and by the same means as heat embossing, but with a negative metal cliché and no foil.

With a negative metallic engraving, a relief of the desired design or text can be highlighted with pressure.

The shapes of the labels are obtained by die-cutting the sheets with the variants included in the die, and it is only possible to obtain labels without die-cutting when they have four sharp-edged corners.

Once the sheets have been die-cut, the only thing left to do is to finish the labels with the holes, slits, eyelets and threads requested by the customer to facilitate their placement on the garment.

The terminations after printing will be multiple:

  • Straight or blunt edges or with die-cutting.
  • With round holes, rectangular holes or various shapes.
  • Climbing, splitting, laser cutting.
  • Embossing or dry punching.
  • Matt, gloss or soft touch (velvet) lamination.
  • Heat-applied film printing
  • UVI screen printing with 3D effect.
  • Eyelets and rivets.

For quotation purposes, bearing in mind that our minimum order quantity for this product is 5,000 pieces, it is preferable to show the design or label and list:

  1. The dimensions of the label.
  2. Type of cardboard to be used.
  3. The dimensions of the colours if it is hot stamping or screen printing.
  4. Indicate the finishes to be used.
